The well-known text by John Donne offers the male chorus an opportunity to sing from their hearts. Commissioned for an honor choir, the piece was very well received by singers and audience.

The composer skillfully creates a lot of music without divisi or excessive difficulty. The musicality of the piece is excellent, the harmonies and rhythms give it a contemporary feel, the vocal writing is superb.

From Bach’s CHRISTMAS ORATORIO, thus beautiful lullaby may be sung in German or English. There is but one sentence of text, and much of the piece is in unison. The elegant piece provides a striking contrast for a seasonal program, or any time of the year.
