Dancing Tree is a fanciful and exuberantly happy piece for young voices. The verse begins, In my garden grows a tree Dances day and night for me, Four in a bar and sometimes three, To music secret as can be. Taking its cues from this simple but inspired poetry, the piece alternates between duple and triple meters, with light waltzing sections, a Latin dance, and finally a grand valse.
