 Melanie Horne
Melanie Horne (b. 1972) is currently the choral director of Athens City Schools and has worked as director of Athens Children’s Chorus since 1999. She has taught elementary music for the majority of her career in Athens, Ohio, after beginning her career in the Pittsburgh area. In college, she had the opportunity to work as accompanist and intern with Children’s Festival Chorus of Pittsburgh, which sparked her interest in children’s chorus music.

Mrs. Horne holds a B.S. in Music Education from Duquesne University and a Master of Music Education with Kodaly Emphasis from Capital University, where she was the recipient of the Gregory Von Stein Scholarship.
