Albert Alcaraz
Albert Alcaraz is the Principal Conductor of the Murcia Baroque Orchestra (OBM), and Artistic Director of the Mediterranean Institute of Choral Conducting (INMECC) based in Alecante/Alacant. His music is published in Valencia, Catalonia, the Basque Country, France, Ireland, Slovenia and the USA, and includes about 50 publications, many of them for choir. He has received composition awards in Catalonia, Basque Country, Cantabria, and Valencia. His works are performed by groups and performers from around the world. After studying piano, violin, singing and conducting at the Conservatories of Alicante, Murcia, Valencia, and music education and history at the University of Alicante, he obtained the Master of Arts in Conducting and his Doctorate at the University of Geneva. Author of several books and publications, he frequently acts as a judge in contests and competitions, and as principal guest conductor of orchestras and choirs. He also teaches at various seminars and workshops (Santander, Alicante, Valencia, Murcia, Badajoz, Albacete, Bilbao, Huesca, Oviedo, Valladolid, Malaga, Granada, Madrid, Segovia, Valencia, Lyon, Paris, Montpellier, Toulouse, Rome, Naples, London, Dublin…) to name a few.
