Karen Linford
Karen Robinson (b. 1967) received her undergraduate training in music education from Chico State University, where she studied under Dr. Sharon Paul and was recognized for her work in music and composition. She received a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the University of Oregon in Eugene and has also taken courses in conducting from Helmuth Rilling, Charlene Archibeque, and Ralph Allwood. She was a member of the Oregon Bach Festival Choir for five years and has been a mezzo-soprano soloist with the University of Oregon Symphony, the Central Oregon Symphony, and the Sunriver Music Festival. Her numerous teaching experiences have included high school, (Acalanes HS and Carlmont HS) children’s chorus (Cantabile Youth Singers and Contra-Costa Children’s Chorus), and adult choirs. (Peninsula Women’s Chorus) In the spring of 2005 and 2006, Karen was commissioned to work with several Bay Area schools, setting music to the poems of 4th and 5th graders. She is currently the Program Manager for Cantabile Youth Singers, and composes out of her home in Redwood City, California.
