The poetry by Bliss Carman speaks of a refuge; a garden safe from harm where we are sheltered from the fragility of life, and are provided a safe haven for our memories to dwell. This unique work unfolds over a flowing piano line which weaves in and out of the various choral textures and reminds us of our capacity to love, and to be loved. There are moments of polyphony and homophony in the choral writing which emerge and intertwine like blossoming flowers. A lovely ballad with standard ranges in all voice parts (with optional cue notes).
