Sarah Elizabeth Vaughn
Sarah Elizabeth Vaughn (b. 1964, Muncie, Indiana.) A self-taught pianist since the age of twenty, Vaughn began formal musical training at the age of twenty-four. Merely a year later, she auditioned for, and was awarded a full tuition, four-year scholarship to attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she studied classical piano and voice. Graduating Magna Cum Lauda, in 1994, she received a B.A. in music education (K-12 vocal and instrumental). She earned a master of music degree in composition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she studied composition with Randall Snyder and Tyler White. She has been a member of and has composed music for the internationally known Abendmusik Chorus since 1994. In addition to her musical and academic pursuits, Vaughn is also a gifted artist.
