 Jinsil Lee

Jinsil Lee (b.1983) is a Korean composer and arranger based in New York. She is active across a wide range of genres, including sacred and secular choral music, theater music, orchestral works, and electronic music, showcasing a broad musical language that bridges classical and contemporary art music.

She has been consistently commissioned by various arts organizations, including the Korean National Choir, to compose large-scale ensemble works for choir and orchestra. Her musicals and cantatas have been performed by multiple choirs beyond their premieres, continuing to receive widespread appreciation.

Lee is also well known as a composer for theater, demonstrating an exceptional ability to express the emotions and drama of the stage through music. Her compositions—such as a piano concerto for string orchestra, percussion ensemble works, and electronic music for contemporary dance—have been performed internationally in cities such as Vienna (Austria), and in New Jersey and New York (USA), expanding her global presence.

Her music is characterized by a delicate sensitivity, experimental soundscapes, and profound philosophical depth, establishing her as a distinctive voice in the contemporary music scene across genres and borders.
