CoverProverbs [level: Easy]
Tom T. Shelton Jr.: Bio and other works
voicing: SA | catalog number: SBMP 1009 | duration: 4:20 | price: $2.20
accompaniment: piano, percussion
INSTRUMENT PART: percussion part FREE Download

Fifteen proverbs, gathered from around the world, make up the text for this special piece. A guiro, cabasa, and bongos provide the rhythmic accompaniment. The piece opens with spoken recitation of the proverbs, and grows to a section where four melody lines converge, accompanied by both percussion and recitation of the proverbs. The highly creative piece ends with the Zimbabwe proverb: If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk, you can sing.
