Jay BroekerJay Broeker (b. 1960) is a music teacher, conductor, and composer who presents workshops in the areas of music creativity, curriculum development, and effective teaching practice. His commissioned choral works have been performed by state and national honor choirs. During the summer he teaches in the graduate music teacher education programs at the University of St. Thomas and the University of Kentucky. A resident of Iowa City, Iowa, Jay teaches at the Preucil School of Music, directs the chancel and handbell choirs at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, and serves as co-director and accompanist for the Iowa City Youth Choir.
