 Thea Sikora Engelson

Thea Sikora Engelson (b. 1953) is an eclectic musician who is equally comfortable in the classical, musical theatre and contemporary a cappella genres. As a professional choral singer, she toured with The Dale Warland Singers and The Norman Luboff Choir and was also a member of the Minnesota Chorale and Chamber Singers. Engelson holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education (with Distinction) from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Music in Voice Performance/Pedagogy from Arizona State University and a PhD in Music Literature (Voice emphasis) from the University of Iowa. A former high school vocal teacher, she is in demand as a private voice teacher at area colleges and schools and is active as a clinician and adjudicator. As a musical director and pianist, she has been involved in the production of over 35 musicals at the high school, college and professional levels. An authority on the solo vocal music of Reynaldo Hahn, her translations of his work have been used on several recordings and in concerts.
