Originally set as a canon by Telemann, it here retains much of the canonic flavor while adding harmonic interest and support. Most of the tenor and bass parts are in unison, making this suitable for the SATB or SAB choir. The upbeat, joyful nature of the piece makes it a fine concert opener.
