“Stand Up Now” is based on “The Diggers’ Song”, a 17th-century English protest song originally inspired by the Diggers Movement’s fight for land rights and equality in England. This arrangement for SATB a cappella choirs, with percussion, breathes new life into the original text, with more contemporary themes for modern audiences. The lyrics echo a resounding call for resilience and unity within our community, urging us not only to strengthen ourselves but also to extend support and solidarity to others facing challenges. This is sure to get your choir moving and the audience grooving in their seats!
