THE BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM, a famous Civil War song, is the basis of this arrangement. The composer has added his own final verse to the text, the significance of which is the poignant image of a vacant chair at Thanksgiving due to the death of the young soldier days earlier. The arranger has woven trumpet taps into the fabric of this emotional, stirring song.
