Hyun Kook
Dr. Hyun Kook, MD, PhD, holds his medical degrees from Chonnam National University Medical School in Gwangju, South Korea, where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and runs government-supported research grants to find new therapeutics for heart diseases. Though self-taught in the field of composition, he started writing music in 2005, he is an accomplished composer and writes regularly for the internationally recognized chorales including Ewha Chamber Choir, Ansan City Chorale, Gwang Myeong City Chorale, and Kammerchor Manila (Philippines). His extensive compositions are frequently performed world-widely as well as in the United States such as ACDA. His choral compositions, sacred and secular, are published by major publishers in Korea and in the United States including Walton, Lorenz, Hal Leonard, earthsongs, Colla Voce, Roger Dean, Heritage, St. James Music Press, SoundForth, MusicSpoke, and Santa Barbara Music Publishing. Over 250 choral compositions are currently in print and the list continues to grow.
